Ayurvedacharya (B.A.M.S.) Degree Course

This course is envisaged by the NCISM and is implementing an all India syllabus and carriculam. The course is designed to generate efficient Ayurveda physicians, surgeons, researchers, manufacturers and teachers and is conducted as per the examination schedule and regulations of the NCISM. NCISM has prescribed the minimum standards norms for the infrastructure facilities and the faculties. The College has fulfilled all the required minimum standards for the course.

Eligibility for Admission

A candidate for admission should have passed plus two or equivalent with a minimum of aggregate 50% marks in physics, chemistry, and biology. Biology should have a separate minimum of 50% marks.

The candidate should qualify the Medical entrance examination of the academic year, conducted by NEET. Admission Capacity At present, 60 students are admitted to the course every academic year.

Fees

Tuition fee for the course is decided every year by agreements executed by the Kerala Government and the Management. Apart from the tuition fee, admission fee, university fee etc. are also to be paid. The fee is to be remitted on admission and for four subsequent years at the beginning of the academic year.

Documents to be produced at the time of admission :

1. Admit card of entrance examination.
2. Mark list and rank certificate of entrance examination.
3. Certificate of qualifying examination with mark list.
4. Secondary School Leaving Certificate to prove age.
5. Transfer certificate from the last institution of study (original).
6. Migration certificate (if applicable).
7. Community certificate (if applicable).
8. Course and Conduct certificate from the head of the last institution of study (original).
9. Physical fitness certificate as per norms in the prospectus of Government entrance examination.
10. Certificate of payment of fees(in case of merit quota).

Cutoff date for Admission

The AYUSH prescribes the cutoff date of admission for every academic year. Usually it is 31st of October of the admitting academic year.

Minimum marks for a pass

The student should get a minimum of 50% separately for theory, practical and oral examination in each subject to pass the subject.

Examination

The examinations are conducted by the Kerala University for Health Sciences and on successful completion of the course and internship the KUHS will issue the degree certificate.

Registration

On receiving the degree, the holder of the degree is eligible for registering as an A Class Registered Ayurveda Practitioner in T.C Medical Council or any other State Medical Council. Those who opt so may also enroll themselves in The Central register too.
